Staff virtual calls - FAQ summary
We will add the below questions to this FAQ site, but please find them all in one place for your convenience.
Will staff have access to a fridge?
The staff subcamp will have freezer facilities to refreeze ice blocks for your own food storage.
If it is to store medicine the staff subcamp HQ will have a fridge, we suggest you bring a lockable box - such as a cash box to store your medicine in, but the subcamp team will be able to provide you access for the fridge for medicine use.
Can tents be made available to overseas staff?
You should have received an email from us asking if we can help you as an international member, so please reply to that with the support you need.
I'm from Scotland and have a PVG but don't have a DBS. Do I need to send it to anyone?
You will need to have the correct certificates and permits needed by your organisation – we will be in touch to verify these if we cannot access the information via your booking.
What photo ID is allowed?
The following are acceptable forms of Photo ID:
- current valid passport for any country
- current biometric residence permit for the UK
- current full or provisional photo card driving licence from the UK, Isle of Man or Channel Islands
Do our kids need to bring ID?
Only those over 18 need ID.
Are we allowed to walk around the site after 11pm?
We encourage all to be back on their site for 11 and would encourage staff to lead by example as far as possible!
Where can I find all the policies?

What time can we arrive from on Saturday?
The gates will open at 8am on Saturday.
When will the gates be locked?
The gates will be closed at 9pm on Friday 31st July, and 10pm each night from Saturday onwards.
Our group are a mix of volunteering as staff and looking after our group. Is there a set or usual meal schedule staff follow so both can eat together?
This will depend on your staff role, but the majority of staff roles allow for you to eat together with camping groups at the same time, the only ones that might not are the medical, security services, or similar, or of course the catering team.
Do watersports staff stay in the Watersports Village? or can they stay on the main staff subcamp?
The water village staff do a bit of both, some stay on site, and some stay at the water village. I would suggest you reach out to the team to confirm.
Can staff on free time do adventurous activities?
Whilst the activity providers are there predominantly for the young people, some aactivity providers run adult sessions in the evening, but this is dependent on volunteers to run such sessions.
For staff catering, what is the allergen information?
The dietary/ allergen info can be found on our website for each meal and food vendor
Will one person be able to collect 2 or 3 people's lunches (with their tokens)?
The packed lunch is available for collection at breakfast, if this helps.
Multiple street food options can be collected at lunchtime using the tokens.
For children at kids club, are children able to get Street Food or does it need to be a packed lunch option?
Normally, the children stay with Kids club over lunch so best to send them with a pack up, but the option is there to pick them up for lunch time to have the street food etc.
Is gas available on site?
We are not providing gas bottles on site, but we have an FAQ including stockists.
Is the Poacher App available now?
It’ll be available at the event! We’ll let everyone know more details on how to download etc nearer the event :)
Can staff park on site for the duration
Yes, we have long stay parking that is accessible during the week – you can come and go.
Can children that are coming with leader parents eat in the staff areas?
Yes they can, we fully understand some staff will have their children with them.
Is there a size limit/pitch size for staff tents?
If you have booked power then you will be on a pitch that is approx 9mx6m, other than that the staff site is reasonably flexible with pitch sizes, but please remember there is only a certain amount of space so be considerate with your set up for fellow campers.
Is there disabled parking?
Yes, we will have disabled parking.
If I am staying on a subcamp during the week with my unit, could I stay by myself on the Friday night?
If you wish to camp as staff on Friday, you’ll need to stay on the Oceania subcamp and move your tent on Saturday.
When we arrive, will there be a staff member pointing us to camping areas within Oceania?
The Oceania team will be able to help, though teams do not have to camp together and you can choose to camp near friends.
Can you drive onto the staff subcamp with kit?
This will be possible at certain times, to be confirmed.
Where do you pick up wristbands and your schedule?
Your wristband will be collected at the main gate on arrival, and your schedule will come from your team leader, in advance or at your first team meeting
What are the toilet/shower facilities please?
All showers and toilets are individual toilet/shower cubicles so there are no generic shower facilities.
There is also an accessible toilet / shower on the staff site.
Will the disabled toilet facilities need a key?
Not on the staff site, there is a full changing places toilet/shower and hoist facility in the Exo centre, this is key controlled with The Americas subcamp holding the key.
Is there a specific time staff must be awake in the mornings?
You’ll just need to be on time for your shifts, which your Team Leader will advise! Unless you’re going to morning fitness. ;)
Is uniform needed?
The opening ceremony is a uniformed event.
Is there a current limit on caravan power supply and what is that limit?
The supplies are limited at 10amp.
